PTSD Awareness & Trauma Related Mental Health Training for the Workplace and Beyond (PATH sessions)

In-Person & Online CPD eligible presentations and workshops with the PTSD UK Academy

Are you looking to raise PTSD awareness and improve trauma related mental health understanding in your workplace, community, or organisation?

Whether you’re an employer, team leader, HR professional, educator, or community leader, our training sessions are designed to equip your organisation or community group with the knowledge and confidence to support individuals affected by Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Complex PTSD (C-PTSD).

PTSD UK is the only UK charity dedicated to raising awareness of PTSD and C-PTSD, no matter the trauma that caused it. These sessions are more than just educational—they’re a chance to empower individuals and teams with the knowledge and tools to create safer, more trauma-informed environments.

Why These Sessions Matter

Working conditions not only have a huge impact on mental health, but an individual’s mental health can also significantly impact their performance at work— poor workplace mental health cost the UK economy £28bn and 23.3 million working days in 2022 alone. For individuals with PTSD, these challenges are intensified by prevalent misunderstandings and stigma surrounding the condition.

Despite affecting 1 in 10 people, PTSD is often wrongly associated only with veterans. In reality, PTSD can impact anyone, anytime, and symptoms—like flashbacks, panic attacks, and emotional numbness—can severely disrupt professional life.

A recent PTSD UK survey found:

  • 76% of respondents had taken time off work due to PTSD symptoms.
  • 34% were not working due to long-term ill health.
  • Many felt unsupported or disbelieved by employers.

Real stories from people like Andrew show the damaging effects of ignorance in the workplace — from being forced to “mask” symptoms to feeling like a failure after leaving a job:

“I left my job because of PTSD, and I feel like a failure. I tried really hard to keep things under control but was made to feel unreliable and a let-down. I tried to explain the effects of trauma to my boss, but he seemed to think it was just exaggerated and that I was making a mountain out of a molehill.” – Andrew

PTSD often goes unseen until triggered by stress or reminders of trauma—common in many work environments. With better awareness and understanding of the causes and symptoms of PTSD and C-PTSD, workplaces can create safer, more supportive spaces that retain talent, reduce absenteeism, and boost employee wellbeing.

At PTSD UK, we deliver impactful, evidence-based PTSD and trauma related mental health training for workplaces, communities, and organisations through engaging presentations and interactive workshops—available both online and in-person.These sessions offer a wide range of benefits for your team or community. By improving awareness and understanding of trauma, they can help reduce stress and burnout, boost staff retention and morale, and provide better support for people with hidden disabilities like PTSD and C-PTSD. They also play a key role in fostering a stronger culture of mental health, psychological safety, and inclusion—helping your organisation align with CSR goals, diversity and inclusion policies, and broader wellbeing initiatives.

Trauma-aware workplaces aren’t just compassionate — they’re essential.

PTSD UK Supporters Store

100% of the profits from everything in our online Supporters Store goes directly to our mission – to help everyone affected by PTSD in the UK, no matter the trauma that caused it.

Treatments for PTSD

It is possible for PTSD to be successfully treated many years after the traumatic event occurred, which means it is never too late to seek help. For some, the first step may be watchful waiting, then exploring therapeutic options such as individual or group therapy – but the main treatment options in the UK are psychological treatments such as Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprogramming (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

Traumatic events can be very difficult to come to terms with, but confronting and understanding your feelings and seeking professional help is often the only way of effectively treating PTSD. You can find out more in the links below, or here.
