The challenge

Join Team PTSD UK and thousands of fellow cyclists on this iconic London to Brighton Cycle Ride! Leave the buzz of the city behind as you face the challenge of a 55-mile journey on two wheels, from the heart of London to the buzzing Brighton seafront!

Over 4,000 riders will make their way through the idyllic English countryside putting their pedals to the test on Ditchling Beacon before gliding down to Brighton to cross the finish line and celebrate their success. On your way, stop at the picturesque village of Turners Hill for lunch, stay hydrated at water stops along the route and take advantage of stationary and roaming mechanical support to keep you on course to the finish line.

From there it’s downhill for the last few miles onto Brighton sea front.

Frequently Asked Questions

How fit do I need to be?

The London to Brighton cycle ride is challenging but achievable. In order to maximise your enjoyment you do need to train and get out on your bike before the ride! You can find a training plan here.

What kit do I need to take part?

We recommend you have a well-serviced bike – it doesn't need to be carbon–framed or anything special but it should be comfortable and well maintained. As well as your bike it is essential you have a helmet. It's up to you whether you carry a bag with you but we recommend this is fixed to your bike (search for 'bike panniers' online) rather than worn on your back which can become very tiring.

Is there an age limit to take part?

You will need to be 16 or over but there is no upper age limit. However all participants of whatever age should ensure they are fit enough to take part in the event. If you are in any doubt please check with your doctor.

How do I get back to London after the ride is finished?

Bike and coach transport will be available back from Brighton to south London at an extra cost of £35 which can be booked upon registering or prior to the event.

Your bicycle will be securely transported back to the start point in south London where it will be returned to you upon arrival.

Local train services in Brighton will only permit a limited amount of bikes so we strongly advise you arrange to be picked up from Brighton or book our bike and coach transport (subject to availability).

What happens if my bike breaks while I'm out on the day?

There will be four stationary mechanic points (at the start, at the morning and afternoon water points, and at lunch) but if you’re unlucky enough to experience difficulties in between those points, Skyline (the event organisers) will also have roaming mechanics– just give them a call!

How much does it cost to enter?

We simply ask you to pay £55 on registration which covers everything including the fully signed route, your race number, mechanical support, two water stops and a shiny London to Brighton medal to prove you have taken part!

You're also asked to raise a minimum of £150 in fundraising for PTSD UK if you can.

OK, I'm in! How do I sign up?

Places are filling up fast and we do limit the number of cyclists who can take part. Therefore simply click BOOK NOW to book online today!
