We're hiring! Fundraising Coordinator Role
Every year, hundreds of people do something extraordinary for PTSD UK. They run, swim, cycle, skydive, bake, dance and firewalk, and between them they raise the money that keeps our support and awareness work going for people affected by PTSD and C-PTSD. We’re delighted we’ve been awarded funding to hire a Fundraising Coordinator to help support and cheer them on!
We’re looking for a Fundraising Coordinator to become the go-to contact for our fundraisers, offering guidance, encouragement and heartfelt thanks at every stage of their journey, from a first nervous 5k to a workplace bake sale to a skydive. It’s a part-time role, two days a week and fully remote, on an 18-month fixed-term contract. If you’re warm with people, brilliant at the details and full of ideas about how supporter care could be done better, we’d love to hear from you.
Fundraising Coordinator PTSD UK
- Salary: £27,000 full-time equivalent, which is £10,800 actual for two days a week
- Hours: Two days a week, with flexibility over which days you work
- Contract: Fixed-term for 18 months, with the intention to extend it or make it permanent subject to funding and the success of the role
- Probation: Three months
- Location: Fully remote and home-based, so you can be based anywhere in the UK. Occasional UK travel for events, always with plenty of notice and expenses covered
- Holiday: Pro-rata of our full-time entitlement
- Closing date: Wednesday 23 September 2026
About PTSD UK
PTSD UK is the only UK charity dedicated solely to raising awareness of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, no matter the trauma that caused it. Founded in 2015, we reach over 800,000 people a year through our website, support more than 3,000 people directly by email, and have a community of over 100,000 across social media. We are a small, fiercely dedicated team that consistently punches above its weight, and we are growing fast.
We are also lucky to have an incredible community of supporters who run, swim, cycle, skydive, bake, dance and firewalk to raise money and awareness for our cause. Until now, we haven’t had anyone whose sole job is to look after those people properly. This role changes that.
About the role
This is, at heart, a relationship role. You’ll become the go-to contact for our fundraisers, offering guidance, encouragement and heartfelt thanks at every stage of their journey, from a first nervous 5k to a workplace bake sale to a skydive. You’ll make them feel informed, celebrated and connected to the difference they’re making.
It isn’t about cold targets or hounding people for money, and you’ll always treat supporters with warmth and never with pressure. But this is a role with real ambition behind it. You’ll have a clear income goal, because the whole point is to grow our fundraising income to a level that sustains this post and beyond. We’re looking for someone who finds that genuinely motivating rather than daunting: someone who wants to build something, not simply keep a process ticking over.
We’re looking for someone with real energy and personality who is also brilliant at the details, because in stewardship the details are the relationship. A name spelled wrong or a thank-you that never arrives is a supporter lost.
Key responsibilities
Fundraiser stewardship (your core focus)
- Act as the main, friendly point of contact for all community and challenge fundraisers, responding promptly to emails, messages and enquiries with warmth and clarity
- Onboard new fundraisers with welcome packs, helpful guidance and encouragement
- Check in regularly to see how people are progressing, offering motivation, support and fundraising tips
- Keep track of upcoming events and milestones so every contact is timely and personalised
- Cheerlead fundraisers during and after their event, with thank-you messages, social media shoutouts and post-event follow-up
- Help people understand the impact of their fundraising by sharing real stories of the difference they make
- Build and maintain accurate fundraiser and donor records in our CRM (Beacon), tracking relationships and giving history
- Identify and gently encourage repeat fundraisers, people who have raised for us once and could be supported to do so again
- Follow our safeguarding policy, recognising that many of the people you’ll be in contact with have lived experience of trauma, and know when and how to escalate a concern
- Work within the Code of Fundraising Practice, GDPR and our own supporter data policies
Growing and improving how we fundraise
- Work towards a clear, agreed income target, growing voluntary income from our fundraising community year on year
- Reimagine and improve our stewardship, bringing fresh ideas rather than inheriting a fixed process
- Set up and automate supporter communications where it makes sense (welcome journeys, milestone messages, thank-yous), so that good stewardship happens consistently and at scale
- Use what you learn from the data to refine our approach and feed insight back to the CEO
Finding and engaging fundraisers (communications, PR and social)
- Proactively monitor fundraising platforms (such as JustGiving, Enthuse and GoFundMe) and social media (Facebook, Instagram and TikTok) to spot people fundraising for us, reaching out so they feel supported from the start
- Engage warmly with fundraisers and their posts to build a sense of community
- Spot standout fundraiser stories and work with press and media contacts to turn them into coverage that inspires others
- Create engaging, on-brand social media content celebrating our fundraisers
- Help promote fundraising opportunities, challenges and campaigns to grow participation
Platforms, administration and reporting
- Manage the day-to-day backend of our fundraising platforms, keeping pages, data and donations accurate and up to date
- Keep supporter records clean and current so everyone receives timely, personalised contact
- Provide practical support such as sending out fundraising materials, certificates and merchandise
- Share a short monthly report with the CEO highlighting progress, standout fundraisers and any areas of concern
Supporting our grants and funding work (as capacity allows)
- Offer flexible support to the team on grants, trusts and other funding work as needs arise
- Help gather the material that funding applications and reports depend on, such as impact figures, supporter stories and case studies
- Contribute to funder updates and reports where your knowledge of our fundraising community adds value
New fundraising ideas and resources (as capacity allows)
- Dream up engaging new fundraising ideas and campaigns to inspire our supporters, for example a PTSD UK Bake Sale Pack or a workplace fundraising toolkit
- Help develop and maintain high-quality resources that make fundraising easy and fun
- Collaborate with the team on key campaigns and awareness days
Person specification
We’re looking for an experienced, motivated fundraiser or supporter-care professional who is excited by the chance to build something. You’ll bring warmth and real attention to detail, but also fresh ideas and the drive to grow our income, not just maintain it.

- Genuinely motivated by working towards an income target, and confident in reimagining and improving how things are done
- A genuine warmth with people and a natural instinct for making others feel valued and inspired
- Excellent attention to detail and reliable follow-through, you’re the kind of person who never lets a thank-you slip
- Excellent written and verbal communication, able to craft a kind, uplifting message and switch easily between heartfelt and professional
- Highly organised, with strong time management and the ability to work independently and manage a varied workload with minimal supervision
- Comfortable using email, spreadsheets, CRM tools and fundraising platforms
- Eligible to work in the UK
Desirable
- Experience in communications or PR
- Familiarity with CRM systems (we use Beacon) and platforms such as JustGiving or Enthuse
- Confidence with social media and a flair for engaging, on-brand content

- Familiarity with GDPR and supporter data best practice
- Experience working with press or media
- Understanding of PTSD and C-PTSD, or personal lived experience
What we offer
- Genuinely meaningful work, making a difference to people’s lives every day
- Real flexibility over how and when you work your two days
- Generous holiday allowance, and we are closed between Christmas and New Year
- Employer pension contribution
- Training and development opportunities, because your growth matters to us
- Equipment provided for home working
- Regular team connection, so you’re never on your own
- Simply Health cash plan, helping with everyday healthcare costs
- The chance to build something from the ground up and shape the role as it grows

Treatments for PTSD
It is possible for PTSD to be successfully treated many years after the traumatic event occurred, which means it is never too late to seek help. For some, the first step may be watchful waiting, then exploring therapeutic options such as individual or group therapy – but the main treatment options in the UK are psychological treatments such as Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprogramming (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Traumatic events can be very difficult to come to terms with, but confronting and understanding your feelings and seeking professional help is often the only way of effectively treating PTSD. You can find out more in the links below, or here.
