Support PTSD UK while you shop – at no cost to you!

Support PTSD UK while you shop - at no cost to you!

Did you know that you can support PTSD UK at no cost to you while you shop?!

With every item you buy online, you could trigger a donation to PTSD UK – and all this without spending even one penny extra!

All you need to do is to use the charity linked web addresses to connect with internet retailers like Amazon, Marks & Spencers, ASOS, Boots, Not on The High Street, and Argos.

Imagine if all fundraising was this easy!

In the UK, we spent £141.33 billion on internet shopping last year.

Imagine for a second how much charity cash could be raised if each of those online sales earned a ‘cashback’ amount for registered charities.

That is not as far fetched as it sounds if more people opted to use special payment platforms when they shop online. These platforms automatically send a donation to your chosen charity, based on the amount you spend.

Remember, it’s not your money!

The money donated comes from the retailers – and it’s usually based on a percentage of much you spent with them. It’s also very simple to buy things this way. Plus, when you use the tried, trusted and verified payment platforms that trigger charity donations, your data remains secure and private.

There are various options, that support online fundraising this way. With some, you use an app on your phone to make your purchases, and others give you a special link address for the browser on your phone or computer.

How to make it happen

The first thing is to find an eCommerce fundraising link that triggers donations to PTSD UK.

We are connected to a variety of special payment platforms, but here is out favourite which enables you to directly support our work.

Give as you Live

Give As you Live let you support charities at no cost to you – and you can access thousands of retailers through them.

Using the link here, click “Support this cause” or ‘Support us”. You will then be prompted to create an account. Once this initial set-up is done, you can access almost 5000 different websites to buy everything from gifts, holidays, your outfit of choice, to food and more!

Every purchase you make with these many and varied online shops will trigger donations to us from those retailers for example you can raise up to:

Remember, it’s free to use and once you have an account it’s just a couple of extra clicks when you shop online.

For example, if you were to click through Give as you Live Online to do your monthly grocery shopping at Sainsbury’s, you could raise up to 7.5%* of your spend back as a free donation for us. Based on a click and collect shop of £100 per month, you could raise an extra £35 a year for us, for free! Plus, there’s no limit to how much you can raise.

One last idea for socially conscious shoppers

We couldn’t end this appeal for PTSD UK fundraising support without one final idea for how to help us.

Many people are recycling, reusing and reducing to be more environmentally aware. Others are adding another ‘R’, which is refusing to buy new ‘things’. Instead, they use their cash in a meaningful way, such as putting money aside to help us on our mission to support everyone affected by PTSD, no matter the trauma that caused it.

Please visit our donations page for more details on how to make a donation.

Thank you so much for your support!! 🙂

*Calculation of £35 a year is based on 1 £100 shop as a new customer using click and collect at 7.5%, and 11 subsequent shops as an existing customer using click and collect at 2.5%. Rates are subject to change at retailer’s discretion.

Treatments for PTSD

It is possible for PTSD to be successfully treated many years after the traumatic event occurred, which means it is never too late to seek help. For some, the first step may be watchful waiting, then exploring therapeutic options such as individual or group therapy – but the main treatment options in the UK are psychological treatments such as Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprogramming (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

Traumatic events can be very difficult to come to terms with, but confronting and understanding your feelings and seeking professional help is often the only way of effectively treating PTSD. You can find out more in the links below, or here.
