Crowdfunding for our Outreach Project

Crowdfunding for our Outreach Project

We’re excited to announce we’ve been selected for the Aviva Community Fund, and so we’ve just launched our first crowdfunding page to undertake some vital outreach work to reach the most vulnerable and at-risk communities.

It’s estimated that 70% of people who suffer with PTSD in the UK do not receive any professional help at all; many are unaware they have PTSD, and large proportions of those who have a diagnosis are still not getting the help and support they need.

Our outreach project aims to find the people who need the information, support and hope that may be crucial – be that a PTSD sufferer, or their friends and family. We hope to collaborate with a variety of services, companies and other charities such as Rape Crisis Centres, Victim Support Services, Emergency Service Staff Networks, Midwives, and Cancer Support Charities, amongst many others to then circulate the information and support we can provide.

These crowdfunding projects are “All or nothing”, so we’ll only receive your funds if we hit 100% of the £5000 target we’ve set.

Please would you consider supporting our project by donating today? There are a variety of ‘rewards’ on offer for your donations – our work for those with PTSD is vital, and with your support we can find those who really need our help. We’re still the only charity in the UK dedicated to raising awareness of PTSD, no matter the trauma that caused it.

Jude Brooks, UK Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at Aviva, said; “We know that even the smallest charities can have a massive impact in building stronger communities.

The ambition of the Aviva Community Fund is ‘Teach a man to fish’ rather than ‘Give a man a fish’. By focussing on training and coaching from Aviva’s people, as well as enabling fundraising we hope to help causes become more self-sustaining.

We are extremely proud to support PTSD UK and look forward to enabling them to bring ideas to life. By caring more about our community today we can all create a better future tomorrow, so we hope the local community feels inspired to support their crowdfunding campaign too.”
