Contact Us
Please note that PTSD UK is not a crisis or therapeutic service.
Our inbox is an information and guidance service, offering personalised, trauma-informed information, validation, and signposting relating to PTSD and C-PTSD. We can help you understand symptoms, make sense of your experiences, and learn about possible pathways to support and recovery.
We are unable to provide therapy, counselling, clinical care, medical advice, or crisis intervention, and we are not an advocacy service.
We understand that many people contact us carrying experiences that have been deeply painful or distressing. While we’re not able to explore or respond to the details of traumatic events themselves, we can support you to understand how trauma can affect you, help make sense of PTSD and C-PTSD symptoms, and share information about options and organisations that can support you further if you need help with the event itself.
In rare and exceptional circumstances, if information shared with us indicates a serious and immediate risk of harm (for example, to a child or vulnerable adult), PTSD UK may need to take action in line with our safeguarding policy. This could include sharing information with appropriate services such as local safeguarding teams or emergency services. Wherever possible, we will be open and transparent about this, but there may be situations where we cannot consult beforehand due to urgency.
If you, or someone you know, is in immediate danger, please call 999.
For urgent psychological support, there are several free support options available – including Samaritans (116 123), Shout (text SHOUT to 85258), and others. What works best will vary from person to person.
These services are available 24/7 and are best placed to support you in a crisis.
