You can now donate to PTSD UK through AmazonSmile

We’re super excited to announce that PTSD UK is now part of AmazonSmile’s charity list.

This means your normal online purchases can help people affected by Post Traumatic Stress Disorder – with no extra cost to you – every time you shop through Amazon.

What is AmazonSmile?

AmazonSmile first launched in the USA, and then expanded to the UK in November 2017, in time for Christmas, to benefit an initial group of 11 major charities. These included Cancer Research UK, The British Red Cross and The Royal British Legion. Now, however, small and large charities can sign up to benefit from it – and PTSD UK is one of those charities!

How does AmazonSmile work?

AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon that lets customers enjoy the same wide selection of products, low prices, and convenient shopping features as on amazon.co.uk. The difference is that when customers shop through the URL smile.amazon.co.uk, they will donate 0.5% of the net purchase price (excluding VAT, returns and shipping fees) of eligible purchases to the charitable organisations selected by customers.

How can I donate to PTSD UK through AmazonSmile?

If you already have an Amazon account, you can begin shopping straight away. Simply visit https://smile.amazon.co.uk/ch/SC045995 to get started.

  • Log in to your Amazon account and in the ‘pick your own charity’ search bar, search for ‘PTSD UK’
  • Select PTSD UK on the next page
  • You’ll then get an email from Amazon and you’re ready to shop

You just shop as you normally would, and Amazon will then donate 0.5% of the net purchase price (excluding VAT, returns and shipping fees) of your eligible purchases to PTSD UK. There is no additional cost to you. No cost to PTSD UK, and no fees are charged by Amazon Smile. What’s not to love?!

But I always use my Amazon app – can I still donate?

Yes, you can, but as all purchases need to go through AmazonSmile, you can just add items into your basket in your app as you normally would. When it comes to checking out, simply switch over to amazon.smile.co.uk on your mobile browser and complete the check out there.

Thank you for your support

Our mission is to provide support and information for anyone experiencing PTSD – and the funds raised mean we can continue to campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding of the condition and treatments available. So thank you.

Are you looking to fundraise for PTSD UK?

THANK YOU!!  We are a small charity so our main goals at the moment are to increase awareness that we exist (so people can get the support and information they need) and to maximise fundraising to allow us to achieve our mission of supporting everyone in the UK affected by PTSD, no matter the trauma that caused it.
