PTSD UK Firewalk – Step Beyond Your Limit
Are you ready to do something unforgettable—for yourself and for others? Join us on 7 March 2026 at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange for a night of empowerment, courage, and community as you walk barefoot across red-hot embers in support of people affected by PTSD and C-PTSD.
Whether you’re stepping up to conquer your own fears, honour a loved one, or help raise vital funds for PTSD UK’s life-changing work, this is your moment.
Face the Fire. Conquer Your Fears. Change Your Life.
Have you ever felt held back by fear? The PTSD UK Firewalk is more than just a fundraising event—it’s a transformational experience that will challenge your limits, ignite your inner strength, and empower you to step beyond what you thought was possible.
Run by the expert team at Time4Change, this incredible event takes you on an unforgettable journey—from self-doubt to unshakable confidence—as you walk barefoot across a bed of glowing embers burning at over 600°F.
But this isn’t just about firewalking. It’s about overcoming fear, stepping through self-imposed boundaries, and realising just how strong you truly are.
What Is Firewalking?
Firewalking is the act of walking barefoot over a bed of hot wooden embers—typically around 15–20ft long. There’s no trick or illusion. Just you, your belief, and the fire. The embers are prepared from a blend of pine, ash, and oak and burn down to a smooth, red-hot path. While it sounds extreme, when properly trained and supported, thousands of people safely complete firewalks every year—and many describe it as life-changing.
The Power of Firewalking for PTSD UK
At PTSD UK, we know that fear can be overwhelming. Living with PTSD and C-PTSD isn’t a case of ‘mind over matter’—you can’t simply will it away. But what this firewalk shows is that our minds are incredibly powerful, and when supported with the right tools, belief, and encouragement, we can take steps forward—even when everything in us is screaming to stay put.
A firewalk is one of the most inspiring journeys you will ever undertake. No tricks. No illusions. Just you and the fire. Standing at the edge of the glowing embers, every survival instinct in your body will be screaming at you to turn back, to stay where it’s safe, to not take the risk. Sound familiar? That same primal fear often keeps us from stepping forward in life. But when you take that first step across the fire, something incredible happens. You prove to yourself that you can move forward despite fear. That the limits we place on ourselves are not as unbreakable as they seem. That fear does not have to control you. And if you can walk barefoot across fire, what else might you be capable of?

What Should I Wear?
Casual clothing is perfect—just make sure trousers can be rolled up, and socks/shoes can be removed easily. We also recommend bringing wet wipes to clean any soot on your feet afterwards.
How Is Firewalking Possible?
Despite its extreme appearance, firewalking is physically achievable when done properly. Scientifically, it’s linked to the poor heat conductivity of embers and the short contact time of each step. Time4Change has a 100% safety record, and their approach ensures that anyone—regardless of background or belief system—can walk safely and confidently.
Not Ready to Walk? Come and Support!
Spectators are welcome! Come along, bring your energy, and cheer on the firewalkers. It’s an unforgettable experience even from the sidelines.
Safety First
Your wellbeing is our top priority. The event is delivered by Time4Change, led by Cliff Mann, the UK’s most experienced firewalking instructor. Their team follows strict health and safety procedures, and you’ll be fully supported at every step.
You must confirm you agree to the event’s Terms & Conditions during registration.

Treatments for PTSD
It is possible for PTSD to be successfully treated many years after the traumatic event occurred, which means it is never too late to seek help. For some, the first step may be watchful waiting, then exploring therapeutic options such as individual or group therapy – but the main treatment options in the UK are psychological treatments such as Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprogramming (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Traumatic events can be very difficult to come to terms with, but confronting and understanding your feelings and seeking professional help is often the only way of effectively treating PTSD. You can find out more in the links below, or here.
